Ways to Save On Gas Bill
Ive been getting a lot of search traffic recently about ways to save on gas bill. The other search term I’m seeing a lot is ways to ways to save money on gas bill. I am thinking what this could mean….
So I did more thought, and although this site is really about ways to save money on gas for your car…I thought, that maybe people are also looking for ways to save money on gas in the home.
So I thought about it and I’ll do a little post here about ways to save money in the gas for your home.
We are coming up on the winter season, and no doubt, there will be alot of people looking for ways to save gas in any way possible. Off the top of my head, here is a quick list of things you should do, and now is the time to take care of all these things.
1. Check to make sure that there are no air leaks in your windows and your door jambs. Tons of heat is wasted when you let that heat escape. Make sure you fill those gaps.
2. If you can afford it, make sure you have double pane windows so there is a layer of insulation keeping the heat in. And while we are on the topic of insulation, the more you have the better, or at least the right kind!
3. Close doors. When it starts to get cold out, the more you close doors, the less heat you will lose in central parts of the home. Keep all the heat in and you will save money on gas that way.
4. Consider getting electric appliances in your home. You can opt for an electric water heater, and a electric dryer. But you also need to make sure that the energy cost will be cheaper than the gas.
5. One thing you can also do to save money on gas is to turn down the thermostat as low as possible. EVen if you have to wear sweats in your home, at least you aren’t burning up the gas.
6. Lastly, when you go to bed, you can also turn down the heat more. Since you will be under blankets, you should be able to have it colder in the house, and save money on gas that way.
Oh yeah, don’t forget about the water heater too! make sure if you have a gas water heater, that you only have it on for peak times when you need the hot water. Other wise, install a timer to turn it off when you don’t need it.
So, here were some of the things I could think of that you may want to put to use. These 7 ways to save money on gas should help out. Winter is rignt around the corner, and while the price of oil has come down, it is going to go up with the loss of refineries in Texas, and the use of gas to heat homes.
